I was so excited when I found out that Miss A’s mommy had ordered a pettiskirt for her first birthday party! Our photo session was scheduled for the day before the big birthday bash, so she got to wear it for her pictures! Every picture I took could be on a postcard. Those are so freakin cute. Awesome job!!!! Its so funny you posted these because I just did my very first newborn yesterday but she was only 4 days old! We did pics in the exact same hat just a darker pink. So funny because they are so similar. I cant wait to edit mine!!!

Ok that 5D is AMAZING! The quality of these are amazing and it is a noticeable difference from the ones with the Nikon. Those were good but these are so crystal clear. I am saving but I dont know if I will ever get there…

First off, today is Hunter’s 2nd birthday!! (Nov 6th) My sweet boy has made me his “mama” for 2 years. He’s growing so much verbally – can pretty much repeat anything we ask him to and is starting to string 2 word sentences together! This is big news for Hunter since he’s been speech delayed up until now. Go Hunter! This year we laid low and didn’t throw him a birthday party. Mostly because my weekends are now full of sessions and editing and well, one more thing to add to the mix would be too much for me. Next year I’ll make it up to him with a big ol’ birthday bash. He did get a bike and 30 cupcakes (Sams!) and a big elmo face balloon (the thing was ten bucks!). Not too shabby. He’s also getting presents from family and friends as we see them.
This past weekend, I had the privilege of doing a swap photo session for another Austin photographer. That was fun! They live in the Hill Country and own a 20 acre ranch. Their little 22 month old cowboy was super cute and energetic! Here’s a sneak peek!

Happy Birthday Hunter!!! Shame that you are too busy to have a party for him, he only turns 2 once and they grow up fast! Hopefully things will slow down so that Hayden can have a first birthday party.
I’m sooooo excited! I got a new camera!!!!!! A Canon 5D!!!!!!! (Yep, I made the switch from Nikon to Canon!) I have been WANTING this camera for at least a year and now that it’s sitting here on the table next to me, I have to pinch myself every so often because it’s seriously a dream come true for me! I played around with it today and wow, the full frame sensor is incredible! I can see, I can see! I’m trying to memorize where all the buttons are, menu options, and don’t even ask me how to use my new Canon 430EX speedlight flash – OMG that thing confuses me! (My old Nikon SB400 had an on/off button – that’s it!) My new 430EX flash has all sorts of buttons and when you put it in M mode, you get mucho over exposure! Maybe I’ll finally embrace natural light photography after all. I also got a spiffy new lens for my new camera – a 50mm 1.4 USM lens! With all this new technology at my fingertips – I have got a lot to relearn in a short amount of time (my next session is tomorrow, Sunday at 4pm!!)
This image is soft because I had my new 50mm lens almost all the way open but will you LOOK at Hayden’s eyes…
